When the owners of Aqueduct 1359 Hotel Apartments set out to position their property among Kampala's leading premium serviced apartments, they recognised that spacious accommodation alone would not be enough. Today's travellers are looking for experiences they can remember, photograph and recommend—not simply a place to spend the night.

That challenge formed the foundation of the Deluxe Orchard View Suites.

Entrusted with the transformation, 256 Hospitality Studio, under the creative direction of Solomon Oleny, was commissioned to create an apartment that would strengthen Aqueduct's identity, elevate the guest experience and contribute to the property's long-term competitiveness within Kampala's growing hospitality market.

Rather than beginning with furniture or colour palettes, we began with the guest journey. How would visitors feel when they arrived? Where would families gather? How could business travellers feel equally at home? How could the surrounding orchard become part of the experience rather than simply the view outside the window?

The answers shaped every design decision

Drawing inspiration from the theme of Nature & Africa, we developed a calm, contemporary interior where natural light, handcrafted elements and warm textures create an atmosphere that feels welcoming, authentic and timeless. The generous 200-square-metre residence was carefully planned to maximise comfort, functionality and visual connection with the surrounding orchard, creating spaces that encourage both relaxation and meaningful connection.

Unlike many interior projects where multiple contractors deliver individual components, the Deluxe Orchard View Suites were executed as a fully integrated hospitality transformation by 256 Hospitality Studio. Our scope included interior concept development, space planning, bespoke furniture design and manufacture, interior repainting, bathroom detailing, finish selection, lighting specification, decorative styling, furniture installation and complete project implementation.

Much of the furniture was designed and handcrafted by our own artisans specifically for this residence, ensuring every piece complements the architecture while meeting the practical demands of hospitality. Natural materials, carefully selected finishes and thoughtful detailing were chosen not only for their beauty, but also for their durability and ability to create memorable guest experiences.
